چکیده
medicine has come a long way from spark gap generators 1 , electrocautery 2 and electrosurgery 3 . High-frequency radio surgery is one of the most important and Abstract High frequency radiosurgery is one of the most important and versatile tools in dentistry in present age. It can be used in various oral surgical procedures, and also useful in establishing hemostasis. Its main advantage over other modalities centers around a pressureless incision with minimal bleeding. Although off late there has been an increase in interest of dentists in radiosurgery leading to new radiography applications and equipment features, still the progress has been slow paced. Inadequate knowledge, and/ or presence of conflicting, and at times confusing, information on the post-operative wound healing could be one of the reasons for this slow progress. This article reviews the radiosurgery principles and the use of various radiosurgery applications in dentistry. © 2012 HATAM: Publishers. All rights reserved

متن کاملElectrosurgical applications in Dentistry
Electrosurgery which can also be called as radiosurgery has been used in dentistry for more than 50years. Electrosurgery is a controlled precise application of radiofrequency electrical current to the soft tissue site to be cut which is achieved by means of carefully designed electrodes. Electrosurgery is used in almost all branches of dentistry. Electrosurgery is a continuously evolving field ...
متن کاملStereotactic Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy: A Historical Review
"Stereotactic" is an exact radiotherapy treatment modality which implements invasive and non-invasive facilities for improving precise dose delivery. Stereotactic refers to three-dimensional localization of a specific point in space by a unique set of coordinates that relate to a fixed external reference frame. An accurate delivery of radiation is attainable using these techniques with high pre...

The best treatment approach for solitary brain metastasis is not well defined and there is no consensus on this issue. It is still being debated whether patients with isolated brain metastasis should undergo surgical resection or stereotactic radiosurgery, and which patients should receive adjuvant whole brain radiotherapy. The median survival in patients with single or multiple metastatic lesi...

Introduction: Reconstruction of intraoral soft tissue defects is important in restoring function and esthetic. In large defects, there will be demand for regional pedicle flaps or free flaps. Hard palate separates nasal and oral cavities. Due to the small surface area between flap and remaining palate after surgical resections, optimal blood supply of the flaps for hard palate reconstructions ...
